This is some photos i took of a model of the dragline that walked from Oakham to Corby when i first came to Corby this dragline was in Danesholme and walked to Weldon awesome site they had to cover the roads in railway sleeper for the dragline to walk on it took weeks to do

A few points:The dragline that 'walked' made the journey from Exton in Rutland to Harringworth quarry,The nearest a dragline got to Danesholme would have been the one at Gt Oakley quarry,The dragline at Weldon walked across the A43 from Cowthick quarry to Longhills Quarry. There are a couple of DVDs available from East Carlton Park or the Heritage Centre in the Old Village about ironstone quarrying and the building of the dragline at Weldon.
